Ward is an Ottawa-based former project manager turned personal-finance researcher. After spending years helping friends and family work through their financial questions — mortgage affordability, freelance take-home pay, whether to refinance, when to retire — he grew frustrated with calculator tools that were US-only, paywalled, or designed to push affiliate products rather than give honest answers.
Finance Calc App is the result: transparent maths, official tax tables for four markets, every formula documented, and nothing between you and your answer. Ward reviews and updates every calculator and guide on the site. Tax brackets are refreshed within two weeks of each market's official publication.
Editorial standards
All calculators and guides are researched and written by named authors. Every tax rate references a primary government source; every formula is documented on the methodology page. We publish our full editorial policy so you can understand exactly how we work and hold us accountable.
